Kenya Revenue Authority wishes to notify all Manufacturers, Importers, Distributors, Wholesalers and Retailers of excisable goods that pursuant to the provision of the Excise Duty (Excisable Goods Management System) Regulations, 2017 it shall be rolling out a new generation of excise stamps for alcoholic beverages, tobacco and tobacco products, water, soft drinks and juices.
The roll-out will be conducted in three phases as follows:
| Wines, Spirits, Ready to Drink , Beer, Other Tobacco products | From 6th December, 2021 |
| Water, Soft Drinks and Juices | From 28th December, 2021 |
| Tobacco Products and Keg beer | From 1st February, 2022 |
The details for the roll-out, including the cut off dates for issuance of the current generation of paper stamps and a user guide on how to apply for the new stamps are available on the KRA website.
The roll-out of the new generation of excise stamps shall not affect taxpayers using digital stamps.
